Take 6" lift springs and remove one or two leaves?

Does anyone know the pros and cons?

Would that make it sit about as tall as a 4" lift?
How is it on the highway?
How would it be for light towing?

I have a 6" superlift with 2 leaves out of the front and 1 out of the rear. It sets level and is about the height of a 4" lift. They will sag eventually, but mine have had many many cycles while wheeling and are holding up somewhat still after 4yrs. I never tow with it so I can not tell you how that will be, but I say go for it. It also took that spring board affect out of the front end when you hit a dip in the road.

Is it really really soft and do you have a bunch of body roll?

Cause I have to be able to drive it on the highway and some light towing

I thought about taking one out of my 5 1/2" Superlift rear packs but I really don't seam to need too. So far they are working and handeling everything from Hwy to trail just fine so I say just leaveum be and go wheelin!!!/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

It runs down the road fine. Even now with 38's I can run 70+ with no problems. It is not my daily driver so it is the towee not the tow-er. I dont think you would have any problem with towing something like a boat with this set up.

There is a guy around here that did that with 8" springs. The flex didn't seem to be anymore than a regular 6" spring..

I dont see the point of doing all that work...

If we're talking front springs, I know a number of people that would trade you straight up, me included.

I have 4" rancho soft rides and I'd be thrilled to trade ANYONE who has 6" springs straight up. I don't care what the brand is or how stiff or they are.
