has anyone ever seen...a suburban w/a raised roof, right behind drivers seat, the roof extends 8-10''s higher than the original roof. its angled back and towards the sides and has a small window on each side facing forward..the raised roof continues all the way to the rear.
i've been searching the net for a picture to show you, but can't find1, i ran across 1 of these today and have never seen 1 before,
i was wondering how rare this thing is, before i rob it of its 90-91 front cap, i may want to buy the whole thing,
from what i understand, its a conversion sub, like southern comfort or cho-cho customs...i've seen both the trucks and vans but never a sub...i will go take pics of it to show you as i can't find any online...leading me to believe this thing is pretty rare!

I believe you are right about the conversion. If you can actually touch it there is a chance it is made of fiberglass. Gotta be aftermarket. Get pics.

I`ve seen lots of vans like that but never a Sub....Please do get some pics of it.

They must've been a popular item around here because I've seen more than half a dozen different ones.. pretty sure they are a conversion like the camping vans, the ones I've seen have had 4 captains chairs in them as well.

If it is one that looks like an upside down bass boat then yeah I've seen them. We had one when I was a kid. It was a converion deal like the converion vans. Captains chairs, rear seat that folded into a bed and a tv in the back.

Buddy just got one in his junkyard. It's not factory, but aftermarket conversion, didn't look to see who made it. This one is an 87-88, still has the old style nose, but it's a Silverado, all the goodies. The roof is cut just behind the frontseats, and opens it up alot in the back area. Dunno what the purpose was, still can't stand up in it. They might be rare, but don't think they are worth anything......

I've seen a few of them, most were on ebay. I was close to buying one, but I just didn't see any advantage to having the goofy top.

it does .....did have 4 captains chairs...and a table that stands behide the second row and has sofa in back, the table will sit down and sofa turns into bed....it had tv, vcr....not sure if the 8'' in roof over your head is stock or not....neat kinda headliner tho..tell me can you see these ok?

oh its 87 model...91 cap i was looking at was beside it...since i looked at it they've pulled it up next to shop from pasture...i wondering if they going to do sum'n w/it, or a hard sale tactic...trying to get me to grab it?

Thanks for the pics. It's already a Suburban so whats a little more size going to hurt?

Woh...definitely seen better days. How's the overall condition of the body?

Seems like one of those things they might have done just to make sure you could tell it was a conversion and not just a Burb with a special paint job.

The eagle on the back is definitely...interesting...
