They seem pretty neat. I like the design. Just wondering if anyone has any good/bad feedback on them. Its almost like a cross between a holly and edelbrock.

it's just a toploader.... Holley's had em out for 15 or more yrs.. their version of stolen designs from quadrajet... they run ok....

I still love myself some qjets. Camaro is getting a holley 750dp, then again 10.5:1 and a 507 lift cam will do that to a motor....

I just cant seem to get rid of my darn quadra bog! I have adjusted my secondary air valve spring to death and its still not good. My edelbrock performs perfectly all the time.

LOL. I was just looking at these. Glad I saw this post. I'm leaning toward a truck avenger, but have 4days until taxes get here and I have to make the decision.

I love the feeling of those huge secondarys opening. Right now the camaro is running a 305 4bbl with the 2.64 first bw st10 and a 3.42 rear on 28s, and you can be sitting cursing at 65, just lay on the throttle and she'll slightly raise that front end squat the rear and start into scoot mode! Granted, shes a dog off the line, but 160k mile smoggers can be like that sometimes.

Until you so much as get one tire on a curb...cough, sputter cough

my edelbrock is the same way. perfect all the time...as long as its flat

Yes exactly that! Back in the day when i actually did go wheeling() I took of my q-jet, added an edelbrock, and went wheelin! The same night i got home i put the q-jet back on!!! Now, with the offroad needles and seats in it, it holds up pretty well to mall entrances and steep city streets!

To the guy talking about the truck avenger. I have no personal experience with them. But it seems like most people really dont like them. Read the L1TSBFIBBC thread (or what ever it is!) and he mentions not liking it. But his was i think a 770cfm on a go fast big block. So who knows. Just a word of warning. Some people seem to have good/bad luck with them from what i gather.

here's a great dissertation on q-jet adhjustment...linky

from the link,
Incorrectly Adjusted Secondary Airvalve
Results in: Car falls on its face when the gas pedal is pushed to the floor, sag going into the secondaries, flat spot going into the secondaries, jerk or delay going into the secondaries.
Comments: Very common problem. The secondary airvalve is adjusted using the slotted head screw at the secondary airvalve lever, and this is released using the allen head screw up underneath the airhorn. Spring windup should be ½ to ¾ turn.

This is what i have tried and tried to fine tune. I need to do some more i guess.

what shape are the shaft holes in..? They leak air when they are worn, you may be chasing your tail. Bushings fix that easily.
