Has anyone installed 85+ grille & headlights in a \'83 core support

I got a screaming deal on a grille, headlights, and bezels from an '85 - which I thought would fit just fine in an '83 - nope - the core support is different around the headlight buckets - is there an easy way to modify this, or am I stuck either getting correct '83 bezels or the core support from the '85?

the only reason a 85 grille would fit into a 83 support is one is 2 lights the other is 4 lights. the 83-87,88 core supports are the same, same part number even, depending on 2 or 4 light.

81 and 82 are WAY different.

my 83 k10 had a 85 grille in it.

My core support is from an 83 and my grill and bezels are from the 87. They fit perfect.

My guess is (like stated above) one of them is single headlight and the other is dual.

I installed a grill out of a 85 K5 in a 81 burb core support

Okay - so yes I have a single headlight '83 - so has anyone done a single to a double?

At some point, the screws that hold the grille in place on the bottom corners changed as well, and that metal piece that crosses right behind the bumper changed due to that as well.

Not a major deal, but it IS different. I'm thinking that changed '84 to '85, but I'm not positive.
