I've done a search but it was a dead end as far as reviews on this top.
Anyone bought one yet? If so, what is your opinion on it?
Thanks:bow:

I just searched "topper" and stuff came up. There has been a couple of guys buy one. Only make them for 1st gens and 76'-91', no 73-75 full very available. I'm making my own soft top for my 73'.

Thanks. Yeah I did a search too but there really weren't any reviews on it yet. But they really haven't been out for too long either...

I'm thinking bout getting one for the '76+ models. But I wanted to know a couple things on it. Like how the back attaches to the tailgate and how it looks when its retracted down with the protective boot on it???

Best Tops were pretty good when they were available, right?
I kinda have an opportunity to get a can-back, but it might need a little restitching, so I'm not sure yet. And I'll have to have it shipped and it doesn't break down very small with the cross-bars on it, so shipping will be quite a bit. But I'm anxious to see how this new soft topper looks when its retracted down...

What was the deal with yours that you had to modify it for the water issue?

in the back where u zipper down the rear window it left an opening on both corners a bit enough for water to get the stuff in the back wet so i added some fabric back there and then in front on the windows the gutters werent over the windows real good so i had to sew some velcro in further to pull the gutters things out. and then i had to put some foam on the widow frames under the top to make the windows seat 100% to the top.

I hade a STC top and it was ...ok but needed some design improovements for sure. I'm building mine with these improovements in mind.

What happened to your STC top?

The channel in the Aluminum rails that bolt on the top of the bed rail is a PITA to get the top taught and the plastic rib into the channel. You have to screw a piece of extruded Aluminum to your tail gate to have something to close and taught the rear pannel window to, also a PITA. There was other things I just didn't like about it.

That does sound like a PITA...
I'm thinking bout trying out this one from softopper, but I'm trying to make up my mind 100% cause it's a pretty high price tag in today's economy...
But I know my chances of finding one used is slim-to-none...

i think the price of those tops is reasonable considering all that is involved, some have thought about making tops for our trucks on here, and it always comes down that it would be too expensive to produce.

That's kinda what I was thinking, too. By the time you get the "RIGHT" materials to build a frame, take it down and have a custom top fabbed up for your frame and all, and hope you're satisfied with it, I figured it would be more than that...
I'll probably try to get one of these in the next few weeks, after I get the rest of my funds for it, unless a used one presents itself to me - which I highly doubt...
And get one before they end up back off the market again for whatever reason...
I like the overall design of it. I guess we'll see what happens...

no one is ever going to make a top that everyone is going to like everyone wants something a little different. personally i think it would be cool if we could still use the stock rear window, but the frame work for that would probably be a little big/heavy.
