Has anyone use ????

How many times has a young know-it-all engineer type gotten on here and immediately tried to tell everyone how much smarter he is than they are, only to get shut down by some dude(s) with several thousand posts who speaks from experience, not theory? Then the know-it-all type starts throwing a fit and goes back to Butt Pirate and never posts on here again? Too funny.

Lowering the front mount is not a smart idea. I smash mine into the rocks all the time, hell both my front frame rails are bent from rocks. Not to mention everything else it affects. It does not matter how it is cut. You can cut it with a sawzall and drill the holes and it's not going to matter. The bent steel will be stronger then the welded steel as far as taking a side load which there is quite a bit on the front end. The frames on 1/2 tons and K5's suck to begin with and the DIY design is made to help with that problem. I'm not bashing either product but IMHO I would want one that was not welded and does not just bolt to the bottom of the frame.

"akonitony has not made any friends yet"
HMMM, I wonder why?

:haha::haha::haha::haha:

Yeah, Everyone's brave on the internet. Screw you boony... I'll bet you're a flyboy - come get some of this Special Forces if you feel so froggy. I wasn't even going to waste my time on this site, but curiousity got the best of me. Doesn't take much to get you ladies talking with your panties in a wad.
Let me send you a pic of the weld I was talking about and compare it to the bend in the same area of the DIY product, and there is no frickin' way the V'4x4 part is not stronger. I know bends are stronger than welds if they are the same thickness, and all, but this weld is interlocked first in a dovetail fashion, it's 3/8" steel, and then it's welded with Tungsten Inert. Evidently I'm not allowed to post attachments unless I pay for a member upgrade, which will be a very cold day in hell.
As for friends, well boo-hoo, do you think I'll loose sleep over this? Let's see, nope. I'll give the wife a big-O, get my nut, then sleep like a baby. I like real trucks, like my 5-ton or the 7-ton I am building with an 8V92TA Detroit.
I couldn't care less if a little more than a day went by since I joined a site, and nobody was my friend. Guess I'll go drown my sorrows by Bass fishing in the lake behind my property in Alabama, or maybe go down to my place in Florida for some mudd-slinging and country fellowship with real people.
All of you are pretty pathetic pecking on 1 guy 'cause he has a different opinion than the majority. Why don't you put your money where your mouth is: I'll take a side-by-side shot of the two pieces we are fighting about, and I'll even pay for the freight to send just one of the two sides to me so I can take the pic, then mail it back.
One other thing y'all are wrong about - Matt from V'4x4 has read this entire post and thinks it's pretty funny. He told me I should mention the military discount he gave me on the 2 sets of both the perch kits, and the rear shackle flips. I was so confident in his craftsmanship I bought 2 of everything, and paid less for them than the DIY kits. While V'4x4 may not be the most popular guys on this site, they will be soon on my main forum, which is not Pirate4x4, but another site which I would just as well like to keep to myself, but trust me - It's a much better site than this one. Everyone there is open minded and wants to learn from each other rather than suck up to one guy...
Like I said, I'd love to compare the two products we are fighting about side-by-side.

Ok so even IF the V4x4 is a "stronger" part the DIY4X part is already over kill so the point is moot.

Also the DIY4X part is adjustable that in itself makes it a better piece in my book

You know what? I'm done arguing with your dumb ass, you are just pissing me off now with your girlish behaviour. Only women argue this much over words. The guy asked if anyone had ever used the V'4x4 parts, I have, I answered. As for you and the rest defending your butt-buddy's products, kiss my ass.

but he still continues to return here...

Like I said - curiousity. I see y'all have got nothing better to do than keep bashing me for what, 3 pages after my "last post". Just for ****s and giggles, I figure I'll see how long this will go on.
So now you are admitting the V'4x4 part is stronger, but not better because it's not adjustable... The adjustability is moot to me since after I mounted the V'4x4 part to my 1-ton, the spring eye was exactly where I had figured would be the best place for it. Why adjust perfection?
Now if y'all want to play nice and tolerate different opinions, let it drop, or you can keep on with the bashing, and I'll keep on with the defending my one self against all of you. This aint my first rodeo - I'm willing to bet I was building my first 4x4 from the frame up when most of you were still crapping on yourselves and waiting for mommy to come change you. I think I pulled my first K5 frame out of 98 auto recyclers for $100, while they were laughing at me thinking I would never get it driveable, back in 1988, and that was after I had been building transmissions for about 4 years, which was after I left the Army in which, among other things, I was a computer programmer/analyst, or 74F10. That was when we programmed in COBOL, and had punched cards to read a line of info into our IBM system-36.
Ahh, the good old days... back when people had respect fer their elders. So I guess this pretty much blows your hypothesis about me being a new engineer or something like that. I also wasn't trying to be a know it all, and would not have mentioned the physics in college thing except the person to which I was replying had kind of leaned that way in the conversation. Sort of had the condescending tone to it - or at least that's what I picked up. If I was wrong, which would be like the second time this year (ok, probably third or maybe 100 and third), my apologies.
As far as the question of am I an asshole, or not, I'll tell you all straight up that I am to those who piss me off, and I'll give the shirt off my back to those of you who treat me half way decent. If any of you are in the northeastern part of Alabama, and get broken down or something and need a place to stay for a night or a week, don't hesitate to call me @ (256) 330-9073. Same goes for if you are in Florida and have a problem. I've got plenty of space for vehicles, and if I don't have the tool, I'll buy it.
Now, I just took a step and a pretty big and possibly stupid risk by giving y'all one of my c-phone #'s, but I figure what's the worst that can happen? Other than y'all being kind of wierd with the Kert love story, you're probably a decent set of folks.
One last point - I do have friends, their just not here... I could post a few of the thank-you PMs from the site I usually haunt if it is that important to you.
And just for the record, I think Kert is astonishingly creative and talented, but I would not go so far as to say his products are flatly the best and none of the others should even be considered. My experience with V'4x4 was and still is a good one. Matt told me he is cutting some parts tonight and will be happy to send anyone a pic of his waterjet making those cuts that some of you think was made by a plasma cutter. My challenge to do a side-by-side comparison still stands as well.
Alright, go ahead and let me have it - whatever I "deserve"...

I've been reading all of the posts here and this latest one is the best post you've made yet. We are a great group of guys and alot of us have problems with people who have/had the atitude you started with. Yes there are alot of us who buy and use Kerts products and trust them for a quality part. If you're happy with the V4x4 part and it met YOUR needs that's all that matters. In the future though it might be worth a short call to Kert about a product he offers to hash out whatever little details there might be. I have bought a few products from him and all I can say is he is a stand-up guy willing to give the shirt off his back to make sure you are 200% happy with your purchase. There have been numerous times in the past when he got delayed on some of his products because a piece of equipment broke or he was bombarded with too many orders to get them all filled on time and he made a post to let everyong know what is going on and why and that he is working his magic to get everyones parts as quickly as possible. He is the first vendor i've ever seen do such a thing and I think that speaks volumes about customer service.

If you do decide to stick around long enough to get to know some of us i think you'll be amazed at the quality of people on this board. With that said, welcome aboard.

Thank you for the very first nice response I have received since I made my debut here, 4X4High. As for you NorCal Chris, thanks for judging me. My very low impulse control is a side effect from some of the medications the VA has me on. If I get bombarded again with many people attacking me at once, I'll probably lose it again. Welcome to my world. Someday, you too will grow old, and old injuries will begin to hurt again, and you may find you don't have patience for bull****. Thanks for calling me immature, I wish it was as simple as that. Don't tell me you wouldn't be proud of my accomplishments either, as that is very offensive. That is the biggest slap in the face a person like me can receive. Have you ever served this country, or in a time of war, when people like me wish they could go, are you staying safe at home while the (mostly) brave men and women go to fight? I say mostly because of that damned Marine who threw the puppy off the cliff a while back. I'd love to have a few minutes with that SOB.
I think this really will be my last reply. I can see there is no room for mistakes, perceived or real, with this crew. At least the other forum seems to like me... and is more open minded with my post on the V'4x4 products I'm using.

Okay let me first say I dont' care what products any one uses, I like a bunch of different companys but tend to make my own stuff.

Don't worry about this thread bud, its just one thread, that degraded really really fast, something that doesn't happen on this board very often. But remember in a couple of your responses you attacked us too. Mosty by generalizing everyone on the board.

So maybe just stick around get to know some of us, most of us are alot like you we defend ourselves when attacked, whether that attack is real or just perceived (not really just talking about this thread), we certainly have our favorite vendors and products, and alot of folks on here are super talented mechanics fabricators, and a very select few and the BSrs you will ever see or hear!

So just stick around I read alot of different boards and this one is by far the best.

No really everyone does have a opinion that what makes the usa the best country ....bumpin heads is how we understand different opinions right or wrong in more ways than one

Not being a d!ck, but yes, I just got back from Afghanistan. There are alot on this board that are or were in the military...
