Has anyone use ????

he ponied up and paid the dues so welcome aboard!

lets see some pics of these rigs you got

I will send Boondocks some pics of the front install. I also told him about one slight problem I found after loading up the front end on one side. The stock 4" shackles hit the frame. Looks like I need some 6" shackles for the rear of the front springs with these perches. I wouldn't want to move the front eye of the springs any more forward as they are already about 2" more forward than stock, and about 3/4" down. I tried to attach the pics here, but it keeps asking for a URL rather than letting me browse my 'puter.
And yes, I do realize adjustability would be nice here, so I'll take the humble pie ala mode. However, like I also typed, I really don't think I would want the front eye in a different position. If I weld two of the shackle arms together, it will also eliminate the need to have 1/4" spacers at the bottom of the rear shackles since the 52" leafs are 1/2" narrower than the stock ones.

At the risk of sounding like a complete asshole, just call up Kert. He has 6 inchers in stock and ready to ship for 15 bones plus shipping, plus Kert would love to hear from you personally.

How is the shackle angle with the VA4x4 setup?

I run 7.25 shackles up front along with many guys here and it seems to work very well. There are a bunch of pics in my Build thread of the shackles and shackle angles.

Kert sells the new upper shackle hangers that are 1/2" narrower and have a large poly bushing which prevents the needed spacers, and eliminates the small bolt/bushing combo there. I believe ORD also sells a similar product. Pics in my thread as well.

For the pics you have to scroll down and click manage attachments then upload.

Welcome aboard :wink1:

You think your shackle angle is ****ed up, you ought to see mine with 56 inch springs and 7.25 inch rear shackles, Hell, I got about and inch before the spring hits the frame, now droop on the other hand, well, it's probably going to be read in feet, not inches.

Now did you move your shackle hanger, or leave it in the factory location? Three of my CUCV trucks have 56" rear springs that need a home, so I was seriously considering putting a set of those on this animal and doing the 7.25" shackles.
They would probably line up with the centerpin directly under the bump stop. The 52" springs have it about an inch or two in front of it.

Yep shackle hanger moved as far forward as it will go, and 7.25 inch shackles in the back. Kert even has the bushing retainer for moving the rear shackle to another location, which in hindsight, I probably should have done.
Maybe on the CrewCab...

52's generally require the hangar to be moved forward some to achieve an optimal shackle angle.

56's do not.

Thats where the adjustability is so nice. I have done a couple different sets of 52's and 56's and each ends up with a different angle depending on the condition of the spring.

I finally figured out how ato attach pics here. I had tried the advanced setting before, but it wouldn't work for me, but now it does. Guess this blows the "know it all" theory right out the window. Actually, I'm really not the sharpest knife in the drawer guys, and probably 90% of the stuff I do know, I learned from mistakes...
Anyway, here's a preview of this project:

You moved the shackle hangar forward with 56's? Put it back in the stock location and that should give you an optimum shackle angle :wink1:

We are talking about the shackle hangar on the rear eye of the front spring right?

Got CUCV?
Collecting military vehicles is not a disease, it's an addiction...
Notice how the box truck is pulled in close to behind the other trucks. Can you guess why? That's right boys and girls! My wife didn't know it when I bought that one, and after she freaked out completely from the one before it, I wasn't going to tell her. Things she doesn't know won't hurt her... She still thinks I only have 3 of the pickups and 1 five-ton. If she ever starts counting lug nuts, I may have a slight problem...

Negative,
The "forward" hangers have been moved as far forward as possible, about 2.5 inches, maybe a little more. Just the next set of bolt holes forward of the stock position.

Then I used DIY4X's 7.25 inch rear "front" shackles in their stock location. I got about an inch before the spring contacts the frame. but I'll bet droop is going to on the epic scale!

The big boys: all run, and all were under $5k. The cheapest was under $2k... Check out govliquidation.com, but don't hold me liable. I started out with one pickup because I wanted a D60 front end. Now look at me - a pathetic, quivering mess in need of his next fix.
