i have done the truck gate conversion on my 73' k5 and i am going to make a aluminum hatch door for my top with a lexen or polycarbonent(spelling?) window, which ever is better for that application. it will be hinged to the top and seal with weather stripping. will be held up by those gas lift strut thingeys to open the hatch. it will be lockable too. i thought i would use two pieces of say 1/8 thick aluminum with the window sandwiched between the aluminum. probably pop riveted together with window sealer to keep out water. there will be pins that locate the window corectly so if you break the window yoe can drill the rivets out, seperate the two halves drop in a new window in the right spot reseal it, repop rivet it, mount it on the truck and your done. doesn't sound too hard to make. just another project to get started on now....damnit. what do y'all think?
