So found a screamin deal. Pulled some major strings to make it happen, but its mine now.

Lincoln power mig 255
Brand new spool of wire
Full size tank full of 75/25
Regulator
bag of extra tips.

My dad has 5 of these welders at the shop, and its the best welder I have ever used. I cant wait to use it.

I paid 1k for it.

Same machine I have. Love it. Just make sure you have the voltage wired correctly. Mine came from a shop wired at 230v. House is 203v. Look at the schematic in the back clear door. It did not want to work until I changed it.

You got a better deal though.

Those setups around me go for 3k or more, even if they are beat. Hell a 175 lincoln mig people want almost new prices for.

One of these days.

Great score BTW :thumb:

MAN! I suuuURe love when these kind of deal fall in your lap. Like my shipping containers. Two 20 footers for $1500. Thats less then normal price for one. My heavy duty 16gage hydraulic sheet metal shear was another insane deal. This shear goes for about $7200 new. Mine was one of two shears that was literally misplaced in Rutland Tool Supply's warehouse for 5+ years.

These two shears were under a mountain of stored card board boxes. They were moving their warehouse around for a big remodel of the warehouse layout and had to move everything. They found these shear's still completely crated up just sitting there in the corner of the building. They had written them off already the guy said as they went missing years ago.

So years ago I get a sale flyer from Rutland and they are on the cover for a fair amount less then half price. I thought it was a misprint, so I called right then and there. Wanted one of these for years. I was told this same story and NO, it WAS NOT a misprint. I could not get my credit card out fast enough. Then a buddy of mine, he goes to Reno NV all the time so he and I did a Banzi day run to Reno to pick it up from Rutland's warehouse. It was listed in the flyer for something like $3200 some odd dollars, Don't remember the exact amount, but I DO remember what I paid in total, I paid $3441.42 out the door for it :D. Another dream come true. LOVE this stuff!

I'd say this welder is probably one of those dream's come true for you too. I think so, it would be for me with that welder. I still do not have a TIG :doah:. Hopefully some day.

Congrats on the fine machine!

I've been very happy with my MM175 for the last 12 or so years. Frankly, it easily does what I "need". But I've had a few times with multi-pass, and a few times where I would have loved to go into spray transfer, but by no means has it been a limitation for me. I was quite content. That said, I recently had a chance to spend a very limited amount of time on a MM 251, and oh my was that a sweet running machine. Now I can't stop thinking about upgrading. No justification at all, but I WANT to!

Enjoy the new machine, for now I'll live vicariously through you...

Those machines make a distinct hum/ sound when they are really going. Once you hear that sound all other welders sound horrible!

Thanks guys.

It was a hellofa deal for sure. Ive been practicing every day on scrap trying to "relearn" how to weld. Putting so many hours in on a 110v flux rig has messed me up a little. But i think I am transitioning well.

Jekquist you are right though, Once you have a good setting going this thing just hums and runs smooth as can be.

:waytogo: Wow... You lucky S.O.B! That thing looks like the cats azz! What a price you stole that thing for!

I have a really small Lincoln that I love, even with my crappy skills welds always seem to come out nicely. Can't imagine what this thing could do!

How thick of material is it capable of laying good welds down on?
