Have you ever hauled a heavier load back from iron?

scrap yards around here don't sell anything back. Don't matter the offer. Once it hits their yard, it's a goner.

Seen some D60's and other valuable components attached to vehicles that were headed for the crusher but they had no ability to negotiate. They were crushed.

Of course I understand the pickup you got was still on a trailer, that i'm sure would be different.

Did however sell quite a few tons of scrap yesterday. Brought nothing back though.

Same here, once its there it doesnt leave til its crushed.

Same here and I think it SUCKS!!!..I used to make good money hauling "junk" lawn tractors home and fixing them up for re-sale..and lots of times the scrapyards were the only sources of parts for the old things I liked fixing up too...such a waste seeing good stuff that could easily be fixed getting scrapped ,just because someone croaked and whoever inherited the estate was too LAZY to put it up for sale on CL or even dump it on the front lawn with a "FREE" sign on it...but then,I've had people refuse to sell me something for 100 bucks ,so they could scrap it for 20!..makes no sense to me at all...

i got lucky at a pick n pull yard 1 time. scored a drw 60 front and th400/205 combo for under 300 total.

truck was next to crusher ready to go. i spotted it and said how much for the parts. thay said and even delivered it back to the yard. guy runnin the loader asked what i was getting. i told him and he offered to flip the truck over on what was left of the rusted out gone body.

i removed both parts and the loader guy came over and picked them off the frame and loaded them in my truck no extra charge.

and yes body was shot but driveline was like new. tore in to them and found little to no wear on parts. truck must have sat most its life and rusted away.

Might have been one of mine...:(...thats what they do most of the year--sit & rot!...especially with diesel & gas being so expensive..

I like the fact that in Nebraska a dude would accept a check from a total stranger. Here it'd be dead presidents or nothing.

Lits of desolate places out there to bury those who pass bad checks too!....that probably keeps people honest !!...
