Not a GM truck, but a GM car. You guys on here seem more knowledgable on stuff in general than any of my other sources.
The car is a 91 Olds Cutlass Calais with the 2.5 4cyl. It has been running great for the last 5 months I've had it, but the heat has always been weak. In the last week I've been barely getting any heat at all from the heater. Engine has been running fine. I noticed about a week ago a little coolant had leaked out the overflow on the coolant resevior. Today I did an oil change and topped off the fluid while the engine wasn't 100% cool. Drove it maybe 20 miles and when I parked the car, it was pouring a good bit of coolant out the overflow. Drove it home. The temperature indicator/coolant level light came on once for about 15 seconds and when I got home I could see a trail of little drip marks from coming up the driveway. It leaked a little again from the overflow.
I checked and the top radiator hose was warm - I replaced the thermostat about a month ago. The engine was hot but didn't seem to be overheating. No oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil. No leaks anywhere that I could see. What's anyone's best guess? I have to drive about 150 miles tomorrow and don't want to be left sitting.
