Which one is better or preferred? I need one for a ford taurus so I thought I'd see which is the preferred manual

i have a chiltons from way back.. bought it in 1989 (dont think much has changed since then)... but it was ok for basics...

I would say basics are ok in them, but detailed info and troubleshooting you really need a dealer manual.

Try here. http://www.helminc.com/helm/homepage.asp?r=

I have always made it a point to buy the complete shop manual for any new vehicle I buy, since I tend to keep them for 10 years or more. Never regretted it.
If you are looking to fix one particular problem, they have an online subscription for as short as one day. You could find out how to fix one thing and save some money. But if it is your car, and you intend to keep it, I would order the whole manual set.
