"HD" Stamping on a TH400

What does it really mean. I heard it wont work for my 74 with a BB. Any input?

Heavy Duty. It is my understanding that the actual case is stronger than a standard TH400. I think these came in 5/4 military CUCVs, as well as the 1-ton GM trucks.

I hvae one sitting outside that is out of an 86 C+C. I think it's a 1 ton/HD thing, as this truck had a 350.

First off...wrong forum.

Secondly i think it means the 6 bolt cover rather than the thin stamoped steel one. also there is no way to tell a 400 from a 475 unless you pull it apart.
