ANyone have any experience/knowledge of the front 44 in a 75 F250?
Did they all have fulltime hubs? What made them HD vs say a 78 dodge 3/4 ton front? The Ford is a HP but is that all? Nieghbor kid is demo-ing a truck an then scrapping it out. Was just curious if its worth taking off his hads when hes done if the axles arent toasted by then.

nothing special over what you already have
I don't think any of the brake stuff will swap over either, even to just use the 8 lug outers.

IIRC the furds use 5 bolt for the spindle to the knuckle. might work to sell it to a jeep guy later, but wouldn't bother for your usage IMO.

I had one for a long tome, got rid of it due to no parts availability and being almost unusable on our chevys.

Im thinking of swapping the 3/4 dodge stuff into my 72 jimmy, both of which I already have. Was simply looking at the turd stuff for swap/sell material. If parts availability is an issue Im out.:waytogo:

Thanks for the info guys,
jim

If it is indeed a HD44, it won't be high pinion. 3/4 ton HPs didn't come in till maybe 77, for sure 78. If it has the big lock out hubs, grab those, at one point they were worth some money on evilbay.

A 75 f250 would not be high pinion. Only 77.5-79 250's would be. 5 lug is hp. The 8 lug hp 44's are pretty sought after and expensive. Also 78-79 5lug fronts aren't great because the radius arm pads are cast into the axle tubes. The earlier ones are easier to work with in a custom mounted application

It takes me too long to type on my phone or i would beat ya

haha
I guess to conclude...

not worth putting in your truck or taking parts to work on your truck (though I don't think any of them would swap over)

might be worth something if you are willing to store and sell to the right person.
