Head bolt torque and question

Does anybody have the torque specs for the head bolts on an '86 sbc (305)? Also my buddy said he likes to use gasket sealer on his head bolts when he reinstalls them, this sound nutty?

The head bolt holes aren't blind tapped, they extend into the water jacket in the block, so yes, you neet to use a thread sealer on them.
