What is the proper torque spec for head bolts on a 400SBC? Thanks

I wouldn't go past 70 , we got mixed up on Autozones site , and snapped a bolt on Allans motor using diesel specs , then after it was out , they went to 65 /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

I did the same thing a couple months ago...kinda surprised they gave so easily. Def do not over torque!

Let me tell ya what. That was a really crappy thing to happen. Took us quite a while to get the broken piece out.

Head bolts on 400SBC is the same as all SBC. 60-70 Ft LBS
