Head Light Switch

Here is a new one I don't know how to fix...

New head light switch, new knob... When I push the knob into the switch it goes in, then when I pull it, the entire thing goes in and doesn't lock. I tried to push the little button a few times and it still won't completely lock, any ideas?

I put a new headlight switch in my Blazer from O'Reilly's (house brand) and it did the same thing. Iirc, I had to give it a firm push once it bottomed out to get it to lock in.

I'll have to give it a try, I tend to not want to do brute force but it should work.

I have had a new switch do this, I never did get to lock. returned it, took the knob to the parts store to check the next one. It went in locked like normal

I'll give it a good bump today after work, if not I have to go back Monday to return a core.

Gave it a couple hits didn’t work, took one out of my buddy’s 75 blazer and it worked. Pulled his out and put mine in then all of a sudden it works fine now…

Sometimes you have to stick your tongue up your nose just right to get it to click in.
