if i were to do a head swap would that replace my valve seals at the same time......also what is involved in doing a vortec head swap??do i get heads off of a newer truck with the vortec in it?

slow down bud... :wink1:

Your getting ahead of yourself... valve seals are no big deal... can be done with heads on and an easy fix...

getting used, different heads may open a whole other can of worms for you... going Vortec will require a different intake iirc or at least modding a couple holes... also they bring what cam your running into play...

Also if you have heads off, either bought used or yours, it's usually a good idea to check or give the seats a quick going over... All this can lead to probs with an older bottom end, can, not always...

start with checking into a compression test and leakdown test... trust me, look into saving the coin to buy the tools... you'll be charged just as much to have it done and they'll be invaluable to you down the road... easy to use too... I know you'd rather buy "parts" for your truck, but believe me, those tools and knowledge they'll bring will help your truck much more in the long run...

ok....what does the leak down test consist of?? i think i still may look into the local want ads for a semi built 87-95 350

ok i think i got it...now i just have to find the time and help to do it...i`m still trying to get help with my rockers/floors and patches:eek1: :eek1:

would pulling the plugs do anything as far as troubleshooting?
