header bolt torque

20 ft. lbs. Right out of the chiltons manual for a 1971-1978 SB 400 /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif This was for exhaust manifolds not headers but should be the same. Remember this is a cold engine torque, warm up the motor then re-tighten. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

My dad bought some, pretty slick, header bolts. They have an allan head screw in the center that you tighten and it spreads the bolt just enought to lock em in the head. No more header bolts coming loose!
