Header collector length ?

Friend has a bbc with raised port world products heads . Its now making the collector hit the floor/firewall transition under the car .

He thinks if we shorten the collector 1inch he will be good .

If we shorten them will it have a major effect on the engine ?

No one makes headers for this combo but for stock exhaust port height so were making these fit .

Its not going to make any power difference. Chop it.

There is an episode of Engine Masters where Freiburger beats the hell out of headers with a hammer and puts them on the dyno. Almost nothing they did actually lowered the power output.
