I got some headers that came from a 350cid w/ vortex heads. I want to put them on my stock 1984 305cid motor.

As far as I know, the exhaust side of vortec and normal sbc heads are the same, so they should bolt up just fine.
Only reason I didn't respond earlier is because I'm not sure if the 305's with the "log" manifolds have the same bolt pattern as the style with the under-plug manifolds. IIRC they are 7 bolts, while regular manifolds are 6.
Ports line up though, and all the bolts do, at least on the SBC heads with 6 bolts. I suspect the only difference with the 305 heads is one additional bolt hole, not a change in location, but I'm not certain.

correct Dorian, my 85 came with a 305 factory, and it has an extra hole on the left end of the head as your looking at the exhaust side of the heads.
Also, my headers fit both a 79 350, and a set of Vortec heads both.
