I searched and found a few old threads, but maybe there's a new product out there.
What's the preferred header paint nowadays? My search came up with VHT and grill paint. If those are my options I may go with the grill paint.
For prep I planned to strip the paint off the headers (new that I got on a trade), scuff them, and lay down a few coats of paint. Any other technique I should look into?

I've painted a few sets of headers with "header" paint and it only lasts a day or 2, but I can't remember doing any real prep other then maybe sand blasting a manifold.

Lotta info on Header paint on the net. Ive used VHT Header paint, it holds up ok. Prep work is where its at, get that thing CLEAN and oil/dirt free.

I also heard of a trick of making your own ceramic coating using Anti Seize, its super messy but from what ive read it works. Might be an option if youve got the time and patience.

If you do the anti seize approach, plez do a write up with pics. :)
