What product have you found to be the best way to prep and paint your headers? I checked with HPC coatings, $325.00, ouch. Im looking for alternates.

I used the VHT on the headers for my GN. Sand blasted, primer, paint, clear and baked in oven like they said. Have had it ideling a couple times, last time for 20 minutes, but haven't driven it anyplace yet. Go to VHT's site and read what they recommend.

x2 on vht. I used it on my new headers and worked perfect. Used paint stripper to remove old then scuffed the headers really well. Sprayed as they say to (one can per header almost) and 10min at idle then let cool, again then the 20min and finally drive. worked perfect. Looks like a good looking flat coating to me.

Had mine sandblasted and then painted them with BBQ flat black paint from ACE

If you plan on going muddin much, go the cheap route. The mud sticks to the hot exhaust and bakes it on there. I have a pair of ceramic coated hookers that I have never been able to get clean. Twice the price and they look worse than the rusty ones I have. Just a heads up.

I have used the POR-15 on stock exhaust manifolds, 4 years later, and its still holding up great.

They have had no salt exposure though. Just mud, sand, and snow
