I bought a set of ceramic coated headers from summit for like $200 and they fit great and haven’t had an issue in a year and a half.

Headman elite ceramic coated

I bought those ones too, probably 8 years ago now. They do fit great, but they were close to my shifter linkage. Probably could have tweaked it a good bit to clear, but I went with a cable shifter instead.

They do have some rust on them now, but nearly a decade in the rust belt will do that.

@Kain ill give them a try and see how they fit, I do have manual transmission linkage so we’ll see.

Been running the 69830 (stainless version, 62230) for about five years now I suppose.

Truck sees very little mileage every year, but the fitment on these is what I'd consider excellent, and thus far no issues with staying sealed up. IIRC plug number 5 is a bit tough to access (socket won't fit) but so far I've only changed plugs when I swapped engines lol. I have no issues with the hydraulic lines for the clutch, nor the oil pressure switch/sender I installed above the oil filter. I run the one quart filters which also are nowhere near the header tubes. I think at this point in my life if they caused my grief I'd fixate on it lol. I believe the mini starter has made life a bit easier too...just easier to get into place around the exhaust than the OEM style.

I also replaced all the exhaust hangers when I cobbled the exhaust together, to make sure that the exhaust isn't hanging off them. IMO that's why a majority of headers end up with loosened fasteners and collector leaks...the headers are bolted solid to the engine, but the exhaust is basically just flopping around with ~15 feet of leverage on them because it's not hung well.

So far the cheap walker hangers have held up fine. I like that they can be set up run under or over the pipe, and also keep the pipe from being able to rotate, which is important with the pipe coming out the side of the rig.

Great information, much appreciated, if the ones I ordered don’t fit well I’ll try those out. I’m going to spend a lot of time with the exhaust guys making sure they do it right but I’ve used them before and they do good work. It’s a good point about the pipe being well supported and not rotating.
