I want to get the exhaust squared away on my '73. New motor (currently half-built) will be a 388. Pretty mild street build. Hoping for 350 hp. Questions:

1. What headers do I want? I'd really like something that will bolt up easy without cutting fenderwells. I don't care about squeezing every last pony out of it but don't want iron manifolds either.

2. If I put my exhaust system together now on the old (stock) block and heads, seems like the headers should bolt up just fine when I drop in the new engine (summit block, e-street heads). Is that right or is there something I'm missing?

Plenty of space, I don’t know the exact model but I think they may be for a later model because of the vortec heads. I’ve read several reviews and most people really like them.

I will say that the Hedmans fit really well, I put a set on my 78 that I sold last year and the fit and finish was great. However they have crap paint on them so you’ll either want to buy the coated ones or sandblast the coating on and hi temp paint them.

I’d post a vid but I’ve never figured out how

I have hedman 69236 headers on my 74 blazer. They are about 500 bucks but come in an uncoated version 69230 for about 180. Bolted up with no issues/clearance problems.
