Headers or ?

And while I can't find the particular test I wanted to cite that came up with 40HP, take a moment to think about how much potential there is if collector length changes ALONE can make a roughly 12HP difference.

I just skimmed the first article for the numbers, I didn't see if they even bothered to tune the engine after the swap, which would undoubtedly be worth even more.

Even with the lower numbers on the "base" motor, the torque increases are very large. I don't see the dyno charts, most often in the magazines they are only looking at peak, even though the gains could be higher or lower off-peak, which is important. Dyno sheets would show.

And just because I ran into it, another test (on a different motor obviously) showing that tri-y's are pointless.

Heads are much more relevant to hp/torque as is the intake/cam profile. Exhaust/intake make some difference but not a huge amount IMO..

your splitting hairs with me... really? heads and cam? :haha:

it's all about component matching... great, throw a big cam and flowing heads, then choke it off in the exhaust...

it is THE first thing that a motor should get performance-wise.. yes, over a cam or heads, which WILL make more power in the end, but common knowledge is to open the exhaust up before anything...
