I decided it was time to put dual exhaust on my '81 K5 today. I ordered a new set of hedmans, and some dynomax thrushs'. Thats what I run on my '85 and I love 'em. I pulled the old headers and packs off the '85 and took them to my brother, to have him put them on while I am at work, he called and said that the right side, (pass.) wont fit. BS. I tell him, then he said there is a bump stop brocket in the way. I just pulled them off my other truck this morning, why wont they fit the '81? Only difference I can think of is that the '81 has dual front shocks...? Is that the difference? What do I do about it in the morning to fix it?
Alright I took the bracket off and it slid right in, I just wasnt sure of the repercussions of taking it off. I dont think Its gonna hurt anything though.
NOW: I cant get the son of a bitch to run right, it feels like its running against itself, I'm going to pull plugs and wires and see if that helps. (perhaps I got one or two mixed up?) I didn't adjust timing from where it was before, will I need to perhaps?
