My shorties ought to be in any day now. (Pacesetters) I've never put headers on before, well I take that back. I put some long tubes on a CJ I had way back in the day when I went from a I-6 to a 304. These say they will go on with no modifications (yeah right). Is there anything I need to be watchful for? How hard do y'all reckon it's going to be to get the exhaust manifold bolts off? I know I'm going to have to take my plugs out (great time for a tune up :D). Is there anything else? They also say the O2 sensor bung is already there so I'm good on that. They also come with a y-pipe so I'll be able to rig something up to be able to drive it to get the rest of my exhaust done. Thoughts? Thanks!

The stock manifolds should't be to dificult to remove, just take your time and dont snap any bolts. If you do you can get an easy out kit. If you dont mind me asking, how much was the header and y pipe setup, thanks

IIRC they are $221 from J.C. Whitney. Heddman's were $370 at O'Rielley's.

Copasetic, i saw ur post on ps.com. :D Good Luck with the swap.

Thanks! :D

Shorty headers should just bolt in place of the stock manifolds, pretty easy R&R.

That's what I've read and I'm hoping it's just as easy as that. We'll see.

let the paint cure after you get them on or you will get the dreaded rusty header syndrome. Just fire it up, check for leaks, then let the headers get just hot enough that you see a little smoke. Then shut it down and let them cool so that you know the paint will be cured. Unless of course its just cheapy spray paint on the headers :weld:

Is there any kind of spray on, high heat coating I can put on them as a little added protection? Other than sending them out to get jet hot coated. Engine paint maybe?
