Headers!

They've gone up in price since I bought mine, was probably almost 5 years ago now unfortunately. I didn't have any shackle issues, and they fit great from what I remember, I also used them in my nova and they fit awesome in that application too. I'll be getting them for my F150 when the time comes to replace some terrible shorty headers I wasted $200 on.

That's still not bad. Thanks for the link.

if you want a cheap, steel, quality header get Hooker comps...

Agreed. I got the Hooker Comps and I was very pleased. The fit nicely without modification, the flanges were thicker than most cheapies, and they even came with spacers to mount the power steering pump properly.
I got the black painted ones, and while there was a burning paint smell for a little while, the paint hasn't peeled off and they haven't rusted. They make coated ones too, but probably more than you want to spend. I think mine were about $170.

I had a set of Flowtechs (also made by hooker) and was not pleased. Thin flanges, paint fell right off, and they didn't fit right.

you may wanna upgrade the gaskets tho, at least the collector gaskets..

I'm running the headman 69230s and they fit perfectly. No leaks except my makeshift exhaust after the collectors.

Me? No I don't have time to do that and don't want to spend the money. These should last me a while. Plus, someday I want a BBC and then I won't need these headers :D

I put dynomax headers on my truck from a 2wd truck I parted out and have no clearance problems until I clocked my 208, not sure on the model # though....

I see you already got some but I have the flow tech ones and haven't had any problem. Had a inch of clearance from the shackle. Only thing I modded was my z bar for the clutch linkage to fit away from the number 5 tube. I also bought the mr gasket metal two part gaskets for the collector and head connections. Sealed up much better after that.

I ran hookers for years without a problem. Stay away from flowtechs. Had to cut the flange just to get the bolts to line up on one and access to back and center bolts are terrible. Also I had buddy who bought summit brands shorty headers for a camaro I think. And they had great clearances all around. he's suppose to be trying to find a part number for me.
