Headers

I cannot give an exact answer here, though it was neither an issue stock, or with a 2.5 inch lift. I can get pics hopefully soonish.

The application is likely different. I like to use my truck offroad, in the rocks specifically therefore having long tubes hanging down is a concern. Secondly it’s damn near impossible to package the exhaust over to the drivers side with the case clocked flat and the boxed frame. It’s not a drag car so I just don’t see the point of long tubes.

Now I think about it, even my c10 has shorties so I can lay frame.

Fair enough. I'm not a mud truck only type bonehead, but my equipment definitely doesn't get tested the way many on here test theirs.

That said, when stock, I did drag a primary tube over a rock crushing it slightly.

Go for mid-length headers. Long tubes can be made to work, but you are almost always going to be fighting with the shackle and driveshaft issues. Just buy mid-length and dont worry about it.
The whole power band argument is worthless on a truck that you are running less than 3k rpm with 98% of the time. I'd rather have clearance than the added 2 HP at WOT.

Didn't know you can lay frame?
Can yours? Mine has a 5-7 drop best I can tell. The guy I got it from didn't know if it 4-6 or 5-7. I met a guy with one with a 4-6 and mine was lower so I go with 5-7.
I thought yours was stock?

Is this considered mid length?https://www.summitracing.com/parts/hed-69230/

Threy say full but appear to not go as far down than say the summit headers

Had a c10 that was roughly 5-7 and one header did incur some damage being that low. Ran, Stock long tube headers

that's the plan and long tubes prevent that.

I am not will to compromise performance for laying frame. Guess you take them out the side like The Elco had. Fighter plane style. Lol.

Performance is not the objective with this one. Exhaust is routed straight back inside the frame rails.
