Any ideas on dressing up the headlights on my 88? Haven't seen a lot of nice add-ons... I'd like some cheap ideas if you have any? Nope, don't want to buy a new grill.

I was thinking of just getting some tinted plexiglass and cutting some covers. Anything that would do it without hiding the lights too much. I do need to see at night!

Any ideas?

You could add a little shag carpet around the enge to give you an eerie lighting scheme!!!!

I had those covers up until the time I was pulled over and asked to remove them. They did cut about 20% of light intensity, but they looked really good.

I pulled the covers off and painted them black...looks nice.

How about window tint and cut a bowtie out in the center?
I'm sure the cops would love that one!

It looks fine the way it is!

Rock ON!

hmmm....yup, the previous owner neglected to add it back after he put that snazzy square tube grill on....at least that was his excuse.

I need another one for sure.

As for painting the headlight trim black, I tried it (in PaintShop-Pro anyway!) and it kinda makes it look like the trim is missing. What if I wrapped some chrome mesh-screen around the trim to make it "rock resistant"?

this may be illegal for vehicles operating on u.s. highways.

in my ninja days, we would use pinstripe tape to black-out our taillights. space the stripes horizontally, one stripe width between each one. no difference in light output, but it looks blacked out when lights aren't on.

i like the screen idea, also. you could paint the screen, maybe with a bow tie.

Hadn't thought of that. Here I was trying to think of a place to get chrome screen. I might try the painted approach. All white with a bow-ti in the middle!

Looks fine to me. Except for the missing bowtie. Maybe a junkyard for just the chrome outer part of a stock grill and back that with some mesh to protect the radiator. Just an idea.
