i noticed today that my headlights flicker what causes this/ symptoms?

each sockit you head lights plug into have there own ground the black wire comeing off the back ot the light trace that make sure its clean and makeing good contact.

another question is when do they flicker? all the time when drivein only what you hit bumps?

Check your alternator output with a voltmeter. PROBABLY indicates that the voltage regulator is starting to go. Should be visible in the trucks volt gage as well.

yup i agree, a flicker would be more of a rappid cutting out and on

as you idle you moters rps change a bit and the regulator is supost to compinsat for this, if your's is not watch out, this can also make too much power witch can kill stuff.

if you have a hanes or chiltons, it should show how to chech the regulator by by passing it and checking the volts

My Bass Amp causes this.
