Maybe the new bulb was defective? Are you volt readings at the battery or the headlight socket? I would try another bulb before I spend a lot of time tracing wiring. I can't help you on the bright light switch. All of my trucks have it on the floor because I can't get my foot up to the column to turn the brights on.

Well fix that first . Should be easy as undoing a plug , they show it in the common repair manuals for our era trucks , get one keep it in your garage or in your console . Then with the broken switch replaced you start looking for problems , if they don't already go away /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif
