just a fresh thread on this with cheep parts and it works.

junkyard 88-95 chevy trucks a/c control relays behind glove box 4 phillips screws or 7-8 mm bolts.

then 2 screws or bolts to hold 3 relay bank some have 4 on them off the a/c box. some have 4 wires in pigtail others have 5. so if you want 5 wire pigtails look for them and dont be mad when you get home with 4.

cut pig tails with 4-6 " of wires on them. ( pic #1 )

then take home and remove bracket from relays and bend 3 mounting tabs back flat . ( pic #2 ) and then take 2 self tap screws and mount on fender next to washer bottle location. ( pic #3 )

open up wiring harnness and pull tan and green wires out for low/high beam power. cut and add 1 to each relay .

then add auto reset braker inline from alt power with big wire to feed relays.

ya there is a few things i left out but if you want full details look here in the orignal thread. http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45681&highlight=relay+mod

and i did all this for under 20 bucks with junkyard relays and bracket . had to buy ends and braker.

also i have 4 relays 2 extra for my snow plow lights on the truck.

Those look like the same skirted relays that are use with the weather proof bases.
But those are not weather proof bases.

Do those relays have the .25" terminals?

After going back through the OT I will be doing this on my burb:thumb: 4 silverstars on High oughta light the world up:whistle:

the LMC kit is the same thing and really woke up my headlights while running the Silverstars. Something home made would do the same thing and really help.

Yeah I took the lazy way and ordered the LMC kit for my 79 also.

Noticable difference, but now I need to buy some new decent lights and aiming hardware. :haha:

i was going to do this....

my first test was to use a volt meter on my headlights...

high beams on, hazards on and wipers on..

i had 9.8v at the bulb!!!!!!!!!!!! from 14v at alternator!!!!!

but after re-wiring my truck with the ez-wiring 21 kit.. i noticed my headlights are alot brighter.. wonder if they wired around it some how...

i have to still test with a volt meter....

another really cool relay harness (bit overkill but great if you have offroad lights too) is an olds 88 relay pack on the fire wall... i pulled mine from a 1989

plus it has fuses too!!!!
