Starting to build this 89 k5 and it's missing a headlight. Is there a part number I can cross reference? Can't find anything other than the lmc aftermarket ones

Have you tried something like O'Reillys, Advance Auto, Napa, etc. Just go to any of those sites, select your vehicle and the part your looking for.

Is your rig stock
For example mine is a 76 with a 91 front clip
I have the 150mm quad headlight
I choose the upgrade through lmc

Stock SHOULD be h4701 low beam
H4703 high beam
Unkess you have the new style then its a 9006 something

Yup I think those are it. When I tried searching for 89- 91 headlights I couldn't find anything all I would get is 4x6 options. And when I looked up lmc they only offered the upgrade kit. I thought maybe the light was discontinued

I just installed the h4701 & 03's, and I'm really happy with them. O'Reilly had to get them brought in from a few different locations, but what was a few days to wait.

Sweet I didn't see any on the self at mine and didn't take the time to wait in line. Good to hear they can still get them

I had to go to a salvage yard last time I needed a headlight bulb!..
None of the parts store had ONE in stock!..a few places said "we usually have one ,but we didn't re-order one last time we sold one."

I now keep my eyes peeled for new ones in the box at flea markets and swap meets--after I learned most stored are getting close to $15 for a stupid bulb that used to be $3.99 everywhere ,I buy up all I can for $1 or so ..the 4 headlamp square bulbs seem to be the ones hardest to find,I have plenty of 6014 round singles left over from my van and pre 80 square body trucks...

Nobody makes an aftermarket housing or LED for the 89-91 quad headlight setup? Seems like the older setups all have decent looking aftermarket options

My 1991 Chevy V3500 crew cab high beams are PN# H4701. The low beam for my type of Chevy truck is PN# H4703. I have four high beam head lights on my 1991 V3500 crew cab. I bought the electrical connectors for high beam lights so I could install four high beams all the way across. I also installed an old style floor mounted High/Low beam switch so I could have all four lights on at one time or just the outer two.

The only ones most readily available is the ones from LMC.

$34 bucks a light though. Plus the plugs are different to the lights themselves so you have to buy their HD headlight harness with relays, which is a given if you want brighter lights.
Here is another option I discovered. I have not attempted to buy these yet. I found a guy with a 89-91 K5 on a youtube channel that had them. He sent me this link:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/b0789dl3l9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_u7oicbv8ydk71
My issues that make me hesitate to buy is the fact that they are typical Chinese knock off stuff. Also the description incorrectly labels them as 4"x6" size and not the 150mm that the 89-91 uses. Although the image in the description shows a 89-91 jimmy. The price is in line with a pair of the LMC housings but I'm just queasy to pull the trigger on them. The guy from youtube said they fit fine and worked like they should. It's a possible option for sure. They are most likely NOT JW Speaker quality so buyer beware.

Zoo, do you have any pics or vids from the youtube guy showing those on the truck?

Here is the video I found the lights in.

Video was painful, had to scroll through to find shots of the headlights. But from what i saw they look pretty good. So when you ordering to test fit and post a review of them for us? :pimp:

Whenever you are ready to pony up the funds for me! I've got more important stuff to acquire for the upcoming 8.1/4500 swap. Like pedal set, flywheel, clutch, clutch hydraulics and exhaust manifolds. Maybe next year.

I bought these an contacted the seller about returning them.
They are true 4x6
Although bright but still no way to fit the housing
Oh well lesson learned

They must have a listing for the 150mm size we need. That link was pulled directly from the message the guy from that video sent me. Did you ask the seller if they have the right size for these?

I can tell you that @azblazer put the LMC ones in his '90, then did LEDs into them. Eventually he changed the radiator support to the '89-'91 work truck setup in order to use the 5"x7" LED conversion.
The LMC stuff seemed better than the stock ones in my opinion, and having all 4 come on with high beam helped a good amount.
He told me that the LEDs in the LMC housings were better yet, but of course poor light pattern control. It was kinda all over.

I am glad that I bought the obsolete Bosch E-code housings for my '90 back when Irish had them for sale on here. They were $100 a pair, and I bought 2 pair and swapped all four. I like them a lot, but they probably aren't anywhere to be found anymore. They do have a little dim spot on low beam, but I don't worry much about it. And when all 4 come on now, they put out a good amount of light.

Just food for thought, Rigid Industries has some small pods with a beam cut-off that is supposed to be legal for on road use. Of course they are pricey, and you have to figure out where to mount them.
