First of all, let me say that this is cool... the forums being combined and all... makes it easier to keep up!

And now, for the question.... Against my better judgment, a friend of mine talked me into redoing the interior of my truck (77K10). Anyhoo, got most of it done before I ran out of money, but I want to try to do the headliner myself ... anyone tackled this before? Any good tips? I got some material and a thin piece of foam, but I'm ascared

, to do the deed until I get some pointers from someone who's done it!

I tried to do it myself, but it kept on falling down...I just left it off. The key is to get the surfaces really clean,so they will stick! Ain't gravity a b!tch?

I went to my local fabric store and Bought some headliner material. It already has the foam bonded to it. I have a 90 and the headliner has a backing of fiberboard so i just pulled the old off and cleaned it very well. Used spray on adheshive from 3M and it worked well.

Good Luck

I also went to the fabric store and bought some white vinyl with a cloth back. They had the headliner fabric, too, but not in white. The foam board needs to be stiff, almost like cardboard, so it won't sag down. I used spray on adhesive, that is used to glue vinyl tops on cars, to attach the vinyl to the board. It's heavy duty stuff and is not supposed to be affected by temp. changes. I think it's made by 3M.
