do you think it is okat to swap the heads from the donor tbi setup (1990) to my 85 350. i don't want to drill the intake and that would solve the problem right?

The heads will physically swap with no problem. The only issue will be if each engine used the same pistons otherwise your compression ratio will change one way or the other depending on what pistons are in each engine.

I'm not sure about coolant flow? When did the reverse rotation pump come in?

The reverse rotation pump has nothing to do with the heads. The heads from basically 1955-1995 are unchanged and will all swap, (for all intensive purposes).

i was wondering because my buddy is giving me his tbi setup from his 90 blazer. and i think im getting a 87 wiring and ecm from someone on here, or ill do a painless kit. the only thing is painless is 400.00 more then figuring it out myself.

and i guess i need to put in a return line for fuel i read somewhere, but my fuel lines have never been replaces so i might do those now, but for a later car to get the return line. if it works like that.
