I have a plan to put my CB radio where the factory radio location is. I was then planning on putting a double din indash player or single din flip out In the middle of dash where my middle vent is.. I hate the current radio location... Has anyone done this?

A friend of mine did that in his 77 stepside, I'll be doing the same to my 75 Blazer in August, should be very simple.

Ya I don't think It will be a challenge at all.. I do 12v audio/video/security for a living. Im really thinking double din since the motors in the flipouts can go to crap in the cold up here.

I plan to have a double-din, modern headunit/GPS/DVD player in a custom center console that'll meet up with the stock dash.

It'll be roughly at the same height as the factory radio, just in the center of the dash. If I can afford a Vintage Air setup or similar, I also plan to run electronic controls instead of the cable controls and relocate the heat/AC controls right below the new radio location.

That should free up a lot of dash real estate for more gauges in a Ryoken-style dash setup.

Pretty easy actually. I did it to my truck. I think I even made a thread about it
