Heaph's Build Thread - Built not Bought

Very impressive. I just spent the last hour checking out your build and I must say SICK!!

Thanks.

Pickin up another set of $900 rocks on Sat. I told the guy I really dont want 4 more 200lb tires so hopefully my half ton wont be as close to layin frame or snappin somethin.

I've been researching flipping the chunk on the rocks...it's pretty technical. Only 4 of the 14 stud holes line up so their is a pretty creative/technical way to mark the other 10.

Question:

If I decided to remove a leaf or two out of the pack which ones would they be?

Have a plan for these rocks or are they just an investment to rebuild and sell?

got that other set of rocks. Tore down the front and flipped the chunk. Ill get some pics up tomorrow. im exhausted

So I got the chunk flipped last night. I had to drill eight new holes and it fit basically without a hitch.

Than tonight I figured I would take out the pinion to replace the seals and all that BS. Well one pinion nut comes off no problem...the other one breaks two 1/2 socket wrenches...nothing. So I decide to try to take apart the diff to lincoln lock the bitch and I cant get one castle nut loose. Then I started throwing **** so I decided to have a beer and seriously contemplate getting a compressor and some air tools.

I think I'm actually mad at my axle.

Or less! I picked up my 80 gallon setup for $50 DELIVERED...eBay is your friend ;)

and 98 percent if the stuff i did with my 80 gmc.. ofc air compressor isnt allowed at the apt.. so i did it by hand too..

Got a compressor. Worked wonders. Probably be alot farther along if I had one from the beginning.

Flipped chunk Locked rock! Finish assembling and paint tomorrow.

holy crap bro... the idea of a compressor comes up and the next day you go out and buy a beast! haha I bet the credit card companies loves you :)

ahhh I see...thats a sweet deal...

All the places around here want to rape you on the Craftsman Compressors for some reason...

I've said it over and over again but I think my compressor and couple pneumatic tools I've picked up have been hands down the best addition to my garage... Have fun!

Safety wire job could be a lot tighter ( while its apart why not make it perfect ). Excellent build !!!!!
