I feel a similar thing about my own project.

Might be faster to just throw new panels at it than try to scrape, sandblast and restore what's already there.....

I was just about ready to buy a complete truck floor to adapt to my rig.

Also have been trying to figure out the easiest way to fix the cargo floor that had rusted thru mainly from the inside from being wet and covered up for years.

The underside had been undercoated and looked perfect.

After a phone call.......I found out that it won't be long before these will be introduced for sale.

Not to totally spoil the big surprise, but can you reveal which vendor this is, and approximate pricing?

I don't suppose it's a big secret because he was more than willing to tell me all about it.
I was calling Southern KY Classics in Bowling Green, KY to inquire about a complete high-hump truck floor they sell and just try my best to make that work......it's gonna be covered up anyway....right?

The fellow there was the one who told me that there's a stamping plant in Taiwan that is close to having these two items ready to introduce. Maybe 60-90 days?

As far as pricing.......well he didn't say, but is there anything for these things that's cheap?
You were the one who insured me of that......:D....and correctly I might add.
Just guessing, I would think it would be comparable to the truck stuff, maybe a little more?

Anyway, I got the cab floor out of mine and every time I look at the cargo floor I get this  look as to the best way to fix it and make it look good......I'm armpit deep now, so I can wait awhile for a easier and more satisfying fix.

I'm gonna set the body aside for a while, drag the chassis into the shop and work on it while I wait.

I'm reconciled to the fact that it's gonna take a long time to finish this project and I'm OK with that!
It's like eating an elephant.......one bite at a time!

Nice to hear this'll be available soon. My floor is shot with maybe 30% of it being shoddy sheet metal scraps riveted in place from the PO. I've been weighing in the option of just buying an 8' stock of sheet metal and making my own floor. Maybe even upping the gauge from 16ga to 14ga or 12ga since I'm just going for functionality and offroad ability. I'll be waiting to see how the pricing goes.

I dont recall if the K5 bed floors are different as far as the spacing of the "ribs" compared to a pickup bed or not--there are repair panels made for truck beds that have the correct pattern stamped in them available..might be possible to use those?..

With the bed I'm pretty much set on trimming an 8' sheet of metal (I don't mind losing the corrugation, plus at less than $200 a sheet it'll cost a fraction of what shipping alone would be to AK).
However, the floor under the front seats has a lot more dimension to it, so I'm thinking it may be worth looking into a prefabbed unit. I do also wonder how different this upcoming k5 floor is from a 4x4 pickup floor. All the guys I know with 1st gen pickups have C10s, and I think the 2wd tranny setup has a different floor.

I understand about the huge shipping cost and that is a determining factor. This vendor is for me, however, only about a 3 hr drive away. My plan is to just get a shopping list and drive my flatbed truck there to pickup those big truck freight items.

From what I have seen able to determine, the difference is in the transmission tunnel at the fire wall or "toe board". One floor has a low hump (auto),the other (4x4 and 4 speed floor shifted) have a removable high hump cover. Also the truck floors may have different seat mounting locations which is really not a huge deal if using one of them.

This may not be 100% accurate just going on my research alone, but I'm resolved to wait and see what's coming.
