So I got on the throttle a little bit and coolant started leeking into the cab on the passenger side. How hard is it to replace the heater coil? I know its not expensive. I bypassed it for now so that I can drive it but I'd like to use my heater. Its in my 74' k5.

It is a royal PITA to get to.No special tools or know-how.Just a complete tear down of the HVAC system. It's a good time to get all of your lost quarters, pens etc... back.Good Luck:D

Easiest way for me was to drop the inner fender. You may have slick fingers, but I don't  If you've got AC it can suck a little, but other than that, it's pretty straight forward.

No AC. Do I have to pull the dash???

Nah. As long as you don't have the factory AC box, it's easy. I did it on my CUCV in, I donno, an hour or so.

I hear -- not having done it myself -- that the factory AC stuff makes it a gigantic pain, requiring contortions and a five-part wobble extension/U-joint setup to get to one of the bolts :haha:
