i am lost on this one guys, have a 80 blazer no ac. so does the heater control assy supose to only have a switch for the blower speed only? there isnt any switches to control the cold or heat one or defros or off switch. should there be two more switches to control the on off switch and defros, or vent defrost switch?

You should have one switch lever that moves vertically on the left side of the panel, this should control your fan speed. Then you should have 2 that move horizontally that move acrossed the panel,1 that controls the heater and defroster functions and the other controls temperature.

These aren't switches either, they're just levers that move cables which in turn move the flapper doors.

The bottom lever moves the cable to the door and the top lever moves a vacumn block that changes heat, defrost, vent, A/C

I am parting out my 75 Blazer. PM me. Here's a pic of the unit I have that you need (non-AC):

Lemme know if you need the cables and such too when you PM me.

Unless you got real creative with a stepper motor and/or solenoids, the fan speed switch is the only electrical piece. Everything else is solely cable (if not AC) or cable/vacuum operated if AC.
