I bypassed my heater core this past spring in my 01 z71 with the intentions of correcting it before the cold/rain snap here in the PNW. I did the core in my K5 instead (thanks for the write up CK5) and then took on other projects and never got around to the to the pickup. Well it cooled off abit here and some rain showed up (shocking) and foggy windows are no fun. Ironically my K5 is on jack stands thanks to you folks and my new project is under way-14bff/d60,diy stuff so on and so fourth. This leaves me heaterless and scared for my life:eek1: . My book for the pickup is a POS and from what I have gathered this fix is a M Fer. If there is already a thread on this I apologize in advance but my searches are frustrating and I havent found one. If someone that has done this already can help or point me towards a thread that covers it, it would be most excellent. Also, if someone has a way to make heat in the cab before the core is swapped Id be interested.
Take care Guys & Gals

How about alittle love over here. Its getting focking foggy.
What if I told you I rescue baby squirrels and nurse them back to health to give to the children and thier very lives depend on the heat my truck can provide? Or do you just want cash????? Someone else has dealt with this issue and needs to man (or women) up and "hook a brotha up".
Thanks,
Dustin

you need to disassemble the whole dash. It all comes out piece by piece. And IIRC, you might have to evacuate the a/c also.

Thanks for your response Jason4x4. Im looking for instruction- kinda step by step thing (I like pictures) to follow. My book is a POS and if there is something better Ill buy it.
Yes, the ac does require evacuating and the entire dash needs removing, core support and all. I was just hoping someone had done this and could point out the "to do's & to donts" or better yet- detailed instructions. I just dont want to nor will I give someone a $G$ + to do this. Thats a nice North Face parka for me and my passengers.
