The heater core in my 88 burb seams to be OK.... Not leaking that I can find, heat works, no smell, etc. But if its cold out and I turn on the heat my windows get scary fogged in minutes. And if I keep driving there's an odorless white/gray steam or fog coming out of my vents.... I've always assumed it was my heater core, but the no smell/leak part has me puzzled..

Any other ideas of a cause? Or anyone else have the same thing happen before?

could your thermostat be stuck open not getting enough heat,or it might be cloged

I assume you have antifreeze in the system. If so, unless you have the stopped up nose from hell, the heater core is not leaking.
I'm guessing you have snow in the area.
I'm betting that water is collecting inside the heater core chamber, and when it gets hot, that is where the moisture is coming from. I'm thinking snow is building up on the outside vents and water is getting somewhere you don't want it.
You may or may not have an AC system, but there should be a drain of some kind under the box that is probably stopped up.

There is a service bulletin on the drains getting clogged that leads to water in the cab not sure if this could be issue.

I wondered about water getting in there. Does it any time of the year. I'll have to see what I can find on the drains. It did have A/C. Still has the condenser but the housing is melted from the fire. Would the drains be on the bottom of the condenser housing, or where else?

Talked to the wife and mentioned the water deal... And she said "Remember the last time I rode in it and we heard that big slosh noise behind the dash..?" Why yes, yes I do.... That was an instant face palm moment..... Now I gotta hope that the ice block thats probably in there now didn't destroy anything

Only thing thats odd is, wouldn't it still be leaking water on my floor like an actual bad core would do....?
