Newb Question.

I'm replacing my heater core and bent the 2 lower steel rivet type bolts on the heating duct. The top one is okay. These are the ones that you need to remove the inner fender to get at.

I have a feeling its a dealer part, if they even sell them anymore?? The bolts are attached to a type of clamp.

Question: Can I just put a similar grade bolt and washers from the hardware store? If I go this route would it also be okay to run the bolt from the engine compartment so the nuts would be inside the cab?

Problem solved

A little FYI

The dealer doesn't carry these anymore. Its discontinued.

I was able to straighten one of the bolts but the other one was toast.

I went to the hardware store and got a speed clip (had to cut it a little and put it on backwards) and also got a bolt that was pretty close.

The bolt was 1/4x20 course and about 2 inches long. It seemed to work okay.
