Before I start let me say that I have already searched here and not found anything. Does anyone have a diagram or a pic of the heater hoses for a 400 CID 6.6L engine in a 78 Blazer? I bought this thing a few weeks ago and have been busier than a 3 peckered rabbit during breeding season trying to get it to MOVE. I am a day or two away from having it mobile again but need heat. The heater hoses have been cut and routed differently to bypass the core. Basically the hose goes from top of engine to top of radiator. The lines on my 75 K5 are COMPLETELY different and I can't find anything on the internet, this site, or any of the manuals that I have.

Winter is quickly approaching and I plan on having kids in this thing so I obviously need the heater. Please help!!!!!!!!!!

It is one of two ways, and I don't have my Blazer here at the moment, but I believe it is the radiator to the bottom of the heater core, and the engine to the top of the heater core. This pushes the warm engine water directly to the core, then out to the radiator. I may be backwards since I don't have mine to look at.

I think you have the connections backwards, in that the hot coolant from the engine should go to the bottom connection of the heater core and out the top to the radiator. This way air is vented ( not trapped ) in the heater core. That should allow your new heater core to generate the greatest heat for your comfort.

Thanks for the advice guys. Guess I should pull the heater core and fix it while I am at it..... Need to have this thing up and running for hunting season in a few weeks and it is kicking my a$$!!!! :doah:

Oh well, learning a ton and finding all kinds of neat stuff to fix. I think this may end up being a never ending battle :haha:
