Heater issues - help

89 K5 heat issue: Heat trickles out of vents, yet when cutting the blower on, air comes out of the floorboard and it is only cold air. Warm air still trickles out of vents but only cold air coming from blower. I can switch to heat, vents, ac, but only air is blown out of the floorboard, not the vents or anywhere else. It is obvious the blower is working but again only blows cold air from the center of the vehicles floorboard. Do I have a trap door problem first? and/or heater core problem? Ac does not work and needs recharging with Freon, would lack of Freon cause any problems with heat?

Any and all help greatly appreciated. Any photos of locating trap doors helpful. Thanks!

I'm going to say it's something with the switch or blend doors. I know there is a thread somewhere on here about the tab that breaks off on these setups, but not sure that alone can cause all your issues.
