Has anyone 'cheated' a pair of Hedman 68301s on a K10? Yes I know the ones called for but these landed in my floorboard with a " use'em of junk'em just get'em outta here" from a buddy. I saw them on an 84 C10 ,they cleared everything and looked like they might work.

Apparently for the 78-87 A/G-bodies with small block.

If they were on a C10, only difference I can see is going to be shackle/driveshaft clearance for 4WD, but I wouldn't imagine they'd hang down on a car enough to interfere with the front shaft. Might have some frame clearance issues, you'd have to see the truck they were in to see if it was notched for them.

O2 sensor an issue?

If I had a set of Chevelle big block headers fit a K10, small block header should have plenty of room. The collector will tuck higher up inside the frame compared to truck ones.

I'm finishing up my exhaust with some 68310's. (on a 84 K5)
I can get some pics up later today if you'd like. It definitely tucked them up higher than my old long tubes which is what I wanted. It clears my shackles and clutch parts pretty good. Only thing I would have preferred a little differently is the Pas side header. Its collector doesn't exit straight back. It is angled slightly towards the frame rail. No big deal since I am completely redoing everything from the collector back. It's just I had anticipated it to point straight back like the drivers side.

I picked them up in kind of a similar situation. I didn't intend on getting these but my long tubes were beyond repair and I couldn't find jack on craigslist. Was about to order some new ones when a CL ad popped up for these for 75 bucks with gaskets/reducers and bolts, only used for mock up. I figured what the heck, even if they didn't fit I could relist them and still get my money back! :pimp:

VERY cool cwn!! Sure I'd love to see some pics. Can you embed them in post? I can't open files here, haven't paid my dues this year :( The way these looked in the 84 I picture them dumping out just before hitting the drive shaft. I don't have the shaft in now anyway but hope to asap. They also have reducers welded into the collectors.
Free is a nice price if you don't spend money making them work

I've been meaning to get these pics up but then I realized I missed taking a few shots from the side/underneath. I was going to snap some today but its been snowy and blowing all day today. But here is what I have so far.

You can see how the pass side points out towards the frame a bit to help clear the starter.

For the most part I like how these headers pretty much put the rest of the exhaust right in the frame rails. I'll hopefully have the rest of the pics up as soon as I finish welding up the bends and get everything back in the truck.

Those last 2 really complete any wondering. Thanks man, I rarely get good news on my low budget  I'm looking forward to giving mine a good coat of hi temp paint and bolting up some punch n rumble :saweet:

Not yet. Been working on tearing down my TBI harness. But I'll get back to the exhaust soon.

Looks good, bet it will sound great too. I need to redo the exhaust on the 77, its full duals with glasspacks and it sounds like a bag of ass. No radio to drown it out either at the moment, lol

Don't feel rushed man I'll be a while getting my header project started. Just great to know how well they'll fit. I had truck headers on my 70 C10 and hated how low they hung, these look alot neater!
