Trying to repair my sisters car,

2004 fwd suzuki aerio

Crank position sensor is the issue..I finally got one in my hands and can not find where is goes. This is driving me nuts!

any suzuki guys on here, maybe the side kick or other motor will have it in the same spot?

I have heard the hyndai motor is the same but cant verify that.

nope. false alarm

still cant find it

this is freaking crazy

following all the 3 wire plugs, still no luck

and cant find anything on the front of the motor near the pullys

It has to be on the crank. Check the side of the block too along the crank centerline. BMW and VW keep there's in the side of the block going into the engine block to a reluctor wheel on the crank.

nope..jason and I found it.. its in between the motor and trans..:doah: found the plug and followed the plug back to it.

better yet though, it was empty of water, so we fill it up and water shoots out of the radiator.. hellooooo head gasket:doah:

Hmmm. Maybe one of those used 30K mile motors from Japan may be a good idea. If the head is cracked/warped and non repairable, you may break even swapping it for a low mile motor.

Thats a possibility

honestly I would rather pony up and buy her a car than deal with this but I know thats the wrong thing to do. The time I will waste tracking down an engine, paying for it, and getting it installed I could just spend my time working and buy her something but with out all the headache and irritation.

There have been clean ford focus and cavalers popping up for around 2500-3000 on c-list.

not worth the money. at all, in any way shape or form.

just had a fridnds kia hit a crap load of problems, spent a day trying to fix it, wound up giging up and just telling her to go ahead and get something else. she wound up getting a great deal on a used mazda 6, like 220 a month or something, and she couldnt be happier.

disposable cars are just that, disposable. replacing brakes, and things like that, ok. bringing them back from the dead??? forget it. waste of money.

This will be the second motor i have put in it..

Problem is it is not the cars fault, the car has been very reliable.

1st time, she had the oil changed and they left the filter loose..it leaked out..she knew it and contiuned driving when she could see there was a huge leak.. Motor finally went

this time she had the front motor mount shot to hell, I can see 2 inches of space in it..no runner left. She drove on it and it caused her coolant hose to start ripping/leaking from the stress. Well... ran out of water..drove with the dash lit up like a christmas tree and there it went.

Car wise its a tuff little ****er. Seems im not the only one hard on parts..

well THERES your problem!

get that woman something with a strait six, she wont be able to kill it if she tries.

Sounds like she's pretty damn hard on cars. Ever addressed this with her?

Random trivia but that's actually a Daewoo. After GM pulled that brand from the market in the early 00's they forced Suzuki America to take the product line as theirs...to their eventual detriment.

Dont mean to get into your personal affairs but why are you fixing your sisters vehicles/thinking about buying her a new car if the wear and tear and all the problems are clearly negligence on her part?

I know..I know. I She is a single mom, in school..I just want to help get her through till she is done and on her own. If she sinks..it is a burden on myself and everyone.
