heep cherokee

a buddy of mine has a 96 jeep cherokee that needs the radiator replaced. i can get it out but am affraid to because of a weird fitting that is used to hold a hose onto the lower part of the radiator. i dont want to get into it if i wont be able to get the fitting off. anyone know anything about it? or how to get it off?

I've spent some time wrenching on cherokee's but don't remember anything special about swapping a radiator

its just a funny looking fitting, i am not sure how it is held on. there is no clamp on it...
